documenta is like… – NFTs from collaborative and generative art

In the run-up to ‚documenta fifteen‘, which will take place this year in Kassel for 100 days starting on June 18, the team from art gallery and artist community Kunsttempel there has launched a conceptual art project that focuses on generative art with a democratic, collaborative approach. In April, anyone could become an artist by adding to the sentence „documenta is like…“ and thus generate a unique piece of art from AI supported word-image connections. Hundreds of entries from participants generated even more artworks that were on display at the gallery Kunsttempel in Kassel in April. In May the works will be sold as NFTs in a benefit campaign, with the proceeds going to „Artist in Shelter“. UN1K.ART supervised the action and brought the artist collective in contact with NFT platform Kollektor.io. Kollektor.io is based on the Algorand blockchain, which is climate neutral. The sales process of Kollektor is particularly simple, the NFT can be purchased with 2 clicks via normal payment methods such as Paypal or credit card.
